Angela Dorothea Merkel, who was born on the 17th of july 1954 in Hamburg, is
Federal Chancellor of Germany since 2005.
After 4 years of being Federal Chancellor, she was reelected last year.
Merkel is the first woman among the Federal Chancellors in Germany.
So she started a new era. She was minister of the environment and of
adolescence and women. That shows her engagement for nature and humanity.
Barack Hussein Obama, who was born on the 4th of August 1961 in Honolulu, is
being
the 44th president of the USA since 20th January 2009. He is the first
black president there.
He was one of the US senators of the federal state of Illinois (2005-2008).
2009 he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his engagement for international
diplomacy.
Both are precursors of tolerance in things like egalitarianism and
inclusion of all
sections of population.
Merkel and Obama are also interested in saving the environment and
humanitarianism. Contrary to Merkel, Obama likes to show his family in the
public.
They both have changed a lot in this world with their positions and are very
influential
persons. They have different forms of government, but both have reached a
lot.
Barack and Angela praise each other and work together.
We think we should have more politicians like them both.

I think they are in the same situation, but the whole world is watching Barack Obama, while only a few people care for what Merkel does. Even though I live in Germany, I know more about Obama than about Merkel. That’s why I think Obama is more important than Merkel.

Thank you for this article. I can’t have an opinion about this article because it is a text that describes things. I don’t know so much about Merkel & Obama. I think it’s interesting. Good description of Merkel and Obama.

Merkel and Obama have much in common, indeed. Both have promised much and achieved little. Nevertheless Obama got the Nobel Prize for peace just for his positive attitude. Even though he wants to send many more soldiers to Afghanistan. Peace through war - Hallelujah!
